Totem

J'interroge la place du sacré dans l'espace domestique contemporain, je cherche ce qu'il reste à chérir dans un monde surchargé de gadgets, où le vivant est inconsidéré. J'ai grandi au bord du lac Léman, les galets longent ses rives pour le sertir élégamment. Il y a quinze mille ans c'était un glacier. Reliquarium est un petit autel en bronze sur lequel se pose un galet. Il est sablé et poli par endroit, cette érosion lui donne une teinte rosée. Reliquarium fait honneur aux milliers d'années nécessaires aux vagues pour façonner les pierres qui entourent le lac ainsi qu'à l'apaisement que j'y trouve immergée dans ses eaux.

I question the place of the sacred in contemporary domestic space, searching for what remains to be cherished in a world overloaded with gadgets, where living things are disregarded. I grew up on the shores of Lake Geneva, its banks gracefully framed by pebbles. Fifteen thousand years ago, it was a glacier. Reliquarium is a small bronze altar upon which rests a pebble. It is sandblasted and polished in places, this erosion giving it a rosy hue. Reliquarium pays homage to the thousands of years it took the waves to shape the stones surrounding the lake, as well as to the peace I find immersed in its waters.
